Fall 2026 bag coverage keeps circling the same handful of shapes. Vogue's fall handbag guide gives east-west its own section and lists Fendi's baguette in it. Coveteur lists east-west bags and top-handle bowling bags among its five trends, and Who What Wear says the season is getting "slouchier and more lived-in." No single outlet lists exactly the same four shapes, so we grouped the edit ourselves: the slouchy hobo, the baguette, the top handle, and the long, low east-west tote. We went shape by shape and pulled 15 pieces that are live right now at half off or more, with no rounding up.
This is the lived-in side of the trend. These bags are meant to be carried a little open and unfastened, and they collapse softly when you set them down instead of holding a rigid shape.

Fendi launched the Baguette in 1997, designed to be tucked under the arm like a loaf of bread. Vogue's fall 2026 guide still lists it under east-west. We checked eBay and Amazon for the shape, and two pieces cleared 50% off, including a house we covered in The Burberry Edit.

Coveteur partly credits Alaïa's Le Teckel for popularizing it and names Prada, Raf Simons, and Khaite among the designers reinventing it. If you are only adding one bag this fall, buy for the gap in your closet, not the trend ranking. If everything you own already hangs at the hip, the east-west tote changes your silhouette the most for the money. Start with the $62 Michael Kors Jet Set to test the shape before committing to it. For one bag that reads more expensive than it costs, the top-handle category has the widest spread here, from $74 to $650, so the investment framing only holds at the top of that range. And if you already have a hobo and a tote, skip the baguette for now. Two real options is a watchlist, not a category.
Only one piece here is suede, the Burberry tote. Water can mark suede for good, so treat it with a suede protector spray before the first wear, not after the first rain. Canvas and nylon totes handle daily wear better than leather but show dirt at the corners first, and a dry microfiber cloth beats any wet cleaning. Leather pieces generally do better with occasional conditioning and a dust bag. Check each listing's material line before you buy.
